Our Story
We’re a family-owned-and-operated business specializing in manufacturing chocolates, brittle, fudge, taffy and other classic confections. Ernest (Ernie) Laymon founded the company in 1927 in Colton, CA and would later partner with his son Lon Laymon throughout the 1940s and 1950s, eventually changing the name from the Colton Candy Company to Laymon Candy in 1958.
Lon’s son Ken joined in 1971, followed shortly thereafter by Lon’s son in law Tim Applen in 1973. After outgrowing the Colton plant, Laymon Candy moved to its current San Bernardino location in 1998.
Now in our fourth generation, today we’re still making candy with traditional methods and equipment using only the finest ingredients. Together with our amazing team of skilled confectioners, we’re committed to creating delicious, high quality products and providing the same superior customer service as we have for over 93 years.
